Bulgur is super yummy, healthy and easy food, and it can be used in so many ways. Cold, hot, spicey, salads, soups, you name it. Today I am making a side dish for chicken, or just about anything, veggies, meat, or just as it is.

This will bring some beauty to my plate and a celebration in my mouth. Very simple. Cook the bulgur, I usually pour some boiled water on top of it and let it stand, but you can also cook it in a microwave or boil it on a stove, even a rice cooker can be used. Some oil on your pan. Add rasins nuts and spices. Mix gently. Add a chopped tomato and chopped onion. Mix again. then in goes your cooked bulgur, some herbs. Wau! Done!


Now, you can enjoy this right away, with just anything. You can also cool it, put in a fridge and eat cold, like a salad. Nothing prevents you to add just about anything you want to this mixture. This would be the base for many, many variations. Carrots, peas, beans, apple cubes etc. etc. To make it into a soup just add some broth, maybe spicey meatballs, chicken or just more veggies.


Like I said, this time I had it with chicken and ate it hot!
Recipe:
This is what you need:
Bulgur
Raisins
Nuts
Olive oil
Onion, chopped
Tomatoe, chopped
Herbs, parsley, mint, basil, anything you have handy
Salt, black pepper
Chili, if you want heat
This is what you do:
Cook the bulgur, the way you want
Some oil on your pan and let it heat up.

Rusinoita
Pähkinöitä
Oliivi öljy
Silputtu sipuli
Silputtu tomaatti
Yrttejä, mitä vaan onkin saatavilla, persiljaa, minttua, basilika
Suolaa, mustapippuria
Chiliä, jos haluat mausteisempaa
Näin teet:
Kypsennä bulgur, tyyli on vapaa. Kaada kuumaa vettä päälle ja anna seistä, käytä mikroa, keitä hellalla, käytä riisinkeitintä
Laita öljy pannulle ja kuumenna se
Lisää rusinat ja pähkinät, Sekoita varoen
Lisää silputtu sipuli ja tomaatti, sekoita jälleen
Lisää mausteet
Lisää kypsä bulgur ja yrtit
