Sore neck? Tight muscles?

Let’s make an oat bag to help deal with the pain.

Here is what you need:

• Fabric for the inner bag and outer bag
• Peeled oats
• Sewing equipment

This is what you do:

I am making here two bags. Measure the bags, length 66cm, width 17cm. Both bags the same size.

Inner bag can be of any left over material you have, like old curtain, like I have here, or old bed sheet.

Outer bag should not be too thin as it needs to hold all the oats and put up handling and heating. I used here old material left over from a pillow project. Both are thick cotton. I do recommend using natural material as they are comfortable for your skin and don’t make you feel sweaty.

If you want you can make a loop from the same material or use a ready ribbon to hang your bag for storage. For that measure 25cmx4cm strips.

Sew the edges of all bags, leave the top open, then fold and sew the loops.

Turn the top part of the outer bag inside, place the loop on the edge and sew tight.

Peeled oats are usually given to the birds, so you can find them from the pet section in your store. Pour oats into the inner bag, I used a bit more than a kilo, but you can fill as you like. Maybe a lighter bag for your shoulder and heavier for legs and back.

Sew the bag tightly and slip into the outer bag. Close the outer bag so that the inner bag is fixed between the seam. This prevents the bag from sliding.

Here we are! A warm oat bag for use.

• Kuorittua kauraa
• Ompelutarvikkeita

Näin tehdään pussi:

Mittaa ja leikkaa pussit. Teen tässä kaksi pussia, eli leikkaan kaksi sisäpussia ja kaksi ulkopussia.

Pussin mitta 66 x 17.

Sisäpussiin käytän vanhaa verhoa, lakanakangas käy myös hyvin. Ulkopussiin käytän vanhasta tyynyprojektista jääneitä kankaita.

Voit tehdä pusseihin lenkit säilytystä varten. Leikkaa ne samasta kankaasta kuin päällyspussi tai käytä valmista nauhaa. Jos ompelet lenkit leikkaa kankaasta 25×4 mittainen suikale.

 

Ompele pussien sivusaumat, mutta jätä yksi kapea pää auki. Taita ja ompele lenkit.

Käännä päällys pussin auki jätetty suu sisään, laita lenkki taitoksen päälle ja ompele kiinni.

Kuorittu kaura löytyy lemmikkiosastolta, se sopii hyvin lintujen ruokintaan. Käytin yhteen pussiin hieman yli kilon, mutta voit täyttää pussin haluamaasi painoon. Kevyempi hartiaa varten ja painavampi jaloille ja selälle.

Kaada kaura sisäpussiin ja ompele huolella kiinni. Sujauta sisäpussi päällyspussiin ja jätä sisäpussin reuna päällys pussin reunojen väliin ja ompele kiinni. Näin sisäpussi ei valu, vaan pysyy paikoillaan.
